Hillarious! Payback for sure. Poem flows well with bouncy rhythm and clear rhymes. Children would surely appreciate the 'toilet humour'.

Don't know if you'll win your contest, but you certainly won a smile from me. I remember those dinners at Grandma's house. I may have learned a thing or two, but can't top your lesson. Bill

Mean ol' grandmas do have a way of putting the defiant young one in order. But when the children are grown, they may well look back to that time and appreciate what their grandmothers taught them. Good luck in the contest. Patricia

a kid is going to be a kid. usually a kid don't understand the meaning from right to wrong. it takes time for them to understand as time grows. whatever they did wrong they will understand as they get older. your poem was amuse to read and it was quite humorous. thanks for the read. "your so vein" means mood or humor.

This is just too funny. However, the kid learned where not to engage in such behavior.

We can't take for granted that a child would know such.

I am just curious, is this fictional or non-fictional?

Good luck in the contest.

Well at least the boy learned something about consequences of his actions. Though he was probably not disciplines for farting but for the way he answered the question.
If he said the "Excuse me" he was asked for probably nothing major would of happened. Though maybe he shouldn't of been forced to eat all this food he didn't like.

Hope you did well in the contest.

Keep writing

poor little kid! Grandma's house is supposed to be fun and a place where a kid can have fun. Your story reminded me of my mother-in-law's house and how my son must have felt when we went there for dinner.

You certainly met the requirements of the prompt and your entry was humorous and fun to read. Good luck in the contest,

~patty~

A very well-written poem to teach children the right manners from the wrong. We do not talk about what we have done in our pants when we want to be excused from the table and never fart out loud.

Delighting array of views in this story, not quite as smooth in its conveyance, still retains writer's wit and charm about its situation. I found spots very amusing to mind.
