Thanks, Yvette, for giving this a look. (This bride can run!)
Comment from Gloria ....
If you are going to get cold feet at a spider wedding, I guess eight it is.
Too funny and a great read this dreary Sunday afternoon. :)

She may be running away, but not nearly as fast as all those who lay eyes on her. Our reasons for running may be different from hers but our need for speed in getting away is nevertheless just as inspired.

Oh, dear. I hope she made it. At least, she had eight feel to try.
I really like "eight cold feet." Was it the wasp she was destined to wed? I don't blame her for running. LOL
However, I protect wasps when I can. They are very beneficial creatures.

LOL! I love the imagery of 'eight cold feet.' The presentation of the white spider was inspired. Thank you for sharing these well written bookmark poems,

Well, Bill, wasps and hornets, like the one in your accompanying photo, are mortal enemies in nature with the wasp or the hornet most generally getting the upper hand (or mandible, as the case were).
She didn't get cold feet; it was purely self-preservation that forced her to make like a tree and leave!
Nicely done...
~Dean :)

I didn't even notice the bug there. I was trying to project the Spider Lily as a bribes gown. The hornet leads to a Romeo and Juliet scenario.

Yeah, it kinda does, Bill, LOL...
