Hard to cram all the sounds of a city
into seventeen syllables.
Jack hammers, air brakes, sirens,
and I-phone static add their own layers.
I'm sure many things 'clang', but voices?
To me, they mostly clash.
Best of luck.
Peace, Lee

thank you for sharing your entry in the 5-7-5 city limits contest. Your words are quite succinct and tell the tale of the sounds you hear on the city streets. Well done and good luck in the contest,

Thank you for your encouraging review.

This 5-7-5 definitely captures what city life is to me (though I would call all those sounds you mention a city CACOPHONY. I like how you focus strictly on audio imagery.

This is a very well written 5-7-5 poem about the noises in the city. You used very good descriptive wording and very good imagery with your words. Best wishes in the contest. Teri

This is so true. Even a hustling, bustling, anonymous city has these vibes.
Good job on the syllable count as required.
So many on FS believe all posts need an image. This may be overlooked although your words paint a great picture in my mind as intended.
Best wishes in the contest. Jan

Thank you. I may be wrong but I interpreted no special affects as pictures too.

I looked & no image is stated. I have seen this sponsor before with an ok for 1 image. But since it doesn't say that, you should be right. I have also seen some in this contest where a picture was used. They may have to remove the picture to remain in the booth when it goes to voting. Please forgive my not knowing. Jan

In the thread where the rules etc for this contest is listed, there are 2 questions. On one of them the sponsor said 1 picture was ok. Even though the contest deadline was reached, you can still add a picture IF you wish.
