Considering I have panic, anxiety, depression disorder I HAVE to love your poem LOL
Don't know what I'd do without Xanax and Zoloft. Not crazy about ice cream...get instant brain freeze. Good luck with it. It tells it like it is. And, your warning is right on.

There are all types of addictions: food, alcohol, drugs, gambling, sex, even relationships. Anxiety is a prime cause for these addictions because soothing the emotion artificially gives the addict temporary respite. However, it drags the abuser further down. I'm glad you included a note that this is satire and not an encouragement to do this. Marilyn

This is just too hilarious. I laughed line by line. Great usage of rhymes. It is not easily to rhyme Xanax.

I completely understood Anxiety is a satire poem. I did not see otherwise. However, I can understand the need for the disclaimer.

I thoroughly enjoyed this poem.

Have a splendid weekend.

This seems like a good poem for anxiety, although it describes the so called cure and not the actual passion of angst. I would have to agree with the desripption of the processing of the emotion as related to a pharmaceutical.

Hi, thank you for your review, frierajac . The poem, "Anxiety," is satire, addressing improper use of addictive medications. As you said, it doesn't describe the angst felt by those do it, nor does it describe a "cure" of any kind. Thanks to your comments, my intentions now are explained in author's notes.
