Funny and a bit more original than some of the others in this contest. The picture is a great accompaniment. I know people who think a lot like this pirate. Good luck in your contest.

This humorous 5-7-5, Incompetant Pirate, has the seventeen syllables in the right place and makes me slap my forehead and say, "What were you thinking!?!" Now that's just dumb. Nice poem.

These are all darling entries. Judging will be most difficult. I really like this. The epitome of incompetence. LOL Good luck with this in the contest.

Oh, that's too bad, Ogden.
If only he'd been concentrating then perhaps none of this would have happened.
Where's a pirates faithful talking parrot when you really need 'em?
Aye, ye scallywag.
Good luck to ye...

Thanks for your interesting observations, Dean - but if he had been concentrating, I'd have no poem, (and parrots aren't any smarter than their pirates).

Thanks also for your good wishes.

Incidentally, how did you know this "blind" entry was mine?

    I'm psychic, didn't you know, heh-heh?
As to your reply, you've got a point there.
Keep up the grrrrrreat work, Don.

This is funny and ironic! I liked your clever words of the silly pirate burning his treasure with the map inside, I am loving these Humourous 5-7-5 poems! Love Dolly x

lol... This is a funny poem -- and a most forgetful pirate. I don't think he's cut out for pirating; he should choose a different line of work. He has my sympathy, though. Burying a map: what a bummer. It's more funny because you rhymed it; I liked that a lot. Best wishes -- Margaret

A very belated Thank you, Margaret! I'm glad you enjoyed the poem. The pirate won't make that mistake anymore. He's been out of business for a long time.

You've penned a good poem.
It consists of three lines with a syllable count: 5-7-5
After reading this poem, I find that it meets the requirements of the contest.
Great artwork: The image shown definitely supports the poem and title. The background color goes well with the art and the color of font chosen.
--How unfortunate for the pirate. This is funny.
Best of luck to you in the contest.
Thanks for sharing your Humorous Poetry.
Good luck with your future writing.
