But as we talked, I realized,
I heard but just one voice.
I wondered, also, how it was
That it had been my choice!
Suddenly, it came to me
So simply making sense:
I was doin' all the talkin'
While you just walked the fence.
If I had only listened
When I heard no sound from you,
If I had only listened
I'd have known that we were through.
We all do this I think, bury our heads an hope all will work out. Sadly it rarely does. Very good work kindest regards Meia x

I enjoyed your refrain, which is such an important element in a lyric piece. It was simple and catchy, I could hear it as a country song. For a full song I'm thinking that it might need one or two more stanzas, but really it is excellent as a short song. Good luck in the contest!

Very well-written song lyrics. When two people meet for the first time. They do not always take notice of the other's reactions and just assume the other feel the same and it's a match make in heaven.
