Zombies? A "dead issue", really?
Zombies are a multi-billion dollar money-maker in the film and television industries.
That's not even including the graphic novels, horror anthologies and comic books dead-icated to the undead.
Dead "tissue", perhaps, but hardly a dead issue.
Perhaps you're not a fan nor have you been a faithful follower of the number one rated show on television in it's time slot, AMC Network's The Walking Dead?
You're probably one of "those people." The sort of folks who loathe the horror genre.
If that's so, then why on earth would you even enter this contest?

Given your propensities, I should have anticipated your pique, and instead lauded The Zombie's impressive longevity. But I had another one of those lapses in judgement of the aged. Sorry.

I enjoyed the humorous side you picked for this prompt. Zombies and vampires are a bit overused, but I still read them and watched TV shows about them, though I prefer more original creatures.
The poem flows well and follows the contest rules.

Hi there,
Very nice little 5-7-5 here. Zombies are about due to run their course for a while I think. Only so many brainless dead you can put up with and the politicians seem to have that all sewn up nicely.
Nice playing around with the words and meaning.
