Okay, I like the lilacs, but the locusts, well not so much. However, you painted beautiful imagery for both.
I love the phrase rest stop (for the locust, I presume). Great poem. Gypsy.

Hola, bonita, we finished the anthology and I closed the multi-author book. We are taking a month off and then starting a new anthology book and multi-author book.
Thank you, honey :)

Thank you for sharing another lovely, woodcut print. I admired your use of alliteration and the "rest stop" notion in the haiku. Big cheers and happy Sunday- Joan

The lilies in this case are water lilies that play a remarkable role in the ecosystem of lakes and ponds. In such a short poem you have indicated their importance in the natural world.

Lilies and locusts present a stark contrast, between cultivated beauty, and hordes of insects we cannot control. This moment of repose makes us wonder what will happen next.

Gypsy,
This was a lovely haiku and I could see the scene you portray really well. I can see those locusts in the foreground of the scene with the lilies blooming in the background. Must be an arduous trip for them to need a rest! *smile*

It is a great haiku Gypsy, you paint a beautiful picture of these winged creatures taking a well earned break by the Lillie pond before they continue on their journey. Nice!
