Good one! Love the humor. Great buildup to nothing. Loved the calling-out and the showdown being pushed back by naps and medications until it was forgotten by both parties. Good writin'!

Thanks for reading. I'm glad you liked it.

It was a line Elmer heard in a Brando movie. He thought it lent dramatic flair. He had used it on his wife once. . . only once. It was three days before he could open his left eye again. -
ha ha - I love this kind of humour - just shows what sort of person I am - cringe.....
I think this - in my humble opinion - is you at your best, Thomas - your sense humour shines through. We could do with a few more laughs on site.

Thanks, Hombre fer readin' my yarn.

Dear Thomas,
Suspense-mounting fiction of an outlaw who is elderly and about to meet someone who is going to end his terrorizing. I thought the end was so funny, they both forgot that they were going to meet each other to "have it out." Good writing. Dove

This was so so very cute. I loved the characters and the descriptions of them. It was great to have ones feeble mind addressed. We all get older and we all forget and yet we always tend to remember that there was something we forgot. Great job, thanks.

Good morning, Thomas
As I've stateds before you have an unique sense of humor. I guess when you have two old farts pushing into their twilight years it's to be expected. Enjoyed.
Take care and stay safe,
Ray

Like the sprang into action. Actually, he shuffled to the table - easy to visualize this scene. Very funny read this one, great dialogue and love the ending. You do these humourous writes very well.
cheers,
valda

Love it. Such a crushing blow he almost broke Elmer's glasses. This is seriously funny. The really sad thing is, if I picture myself having an altercation, it goes pretty much the way you've described it here. Nice job. Craig

I hate to admit it, but sometimes I resemble those remarks. Memory just ain't what it used to be. Sort of like last week when I took a walk up the street, stopped to take a pee on the stop sign at the corner. Then, got locked up for insufficient exposure. Thanks for sharing another fun read. :-)

when Bud walked around(,)
Loved it, loved it, especially the end when they forgot. Perfectly told and interreaction was great, even when they had to be helped up or shuffled along. Very cute
