An excellent contest entry. This is very entertaining. Contests are difficult to win. It requires a lot of talent and a touch of luck.

Sweet picture. You virtually tell a complete story in just 8 words, that's talent. It leaves us wanting more, do they have adventures together or does Spats get fed up and just eat the rat? and just in passing what language do they use to chat? MaggieF

Hmm. You pose interesting questions, Maggie. Spats is well-behaved, and Pat taught her never to eat her friends, so that's out. i doubt there's been much shared adventure there, but you'd get a more authoritative answer from Pat. As to chatting language,
I'm sure it's all in the whiskers - the intuitive communication enabled by even the slightest contact, common among bewhiskered species. Maggie, thank you so much for your insightful comments, and of course for that wonderful sixer!

Not only have you ended each line with a rhyme but each word, except 'and' rhymes. The accompanying illustration is delightful. A strong contest entry. Good luck.

A very creative piece of work in the choice of words and picture I know these small word count projects are to do and
are very hard to review I think this poet has done a very good job and I enjoyed it, that's all I've got to say

I really do love this contest entry. You used a adorable picture of a mouse and big fluffy cat and your words were really cute too. Best wishes in the contest! Teri

I've seen quite a few unlikely friendships between animals touted on Facebook and this is up with the best of them. You've had fun with that second line. It could have come straight out of a 1950s Ist Grade reader!
