OMG. The same thing happened to me. I was a sleek svelte tadpole who swam all the time and had lots of friends. These days I am either a giant frog or Jabba the Hermit. How remarkable that we, who have never met, could be immersed in the same tale of unbelievable change. As to the moral, I didn't see any moral relevance in any of your sentiences. Loved the fun of it Sir Thomas. Thanks for letting me know it was here. - Wendy

It's uncanny. Are you married? Oh, I forgot, I am.

I think that the moral of the story is:
If you're a tadpole in Tadpole swamp,
and you plan to one day kick off into a
beautiful luminscence, just shut up about it
and turn beautiful without an audience.

Oh, geez, you're off your meds again. I will read this
to my grandchildren and they will offer a moral to your
story. They will have fun making one up.
Nice write, Thomas. Though I'm not sure this is a
children's story, except for those who have all ready
become cynical. -Bill

I told this story to a group of children in Sunday school. They loved it. I had everyone's attention for the lesson.

Frogs are better than goldfish anyway. Goldfish can only swim. Frogs can swim, climb and hop. Way cool. I love them. Cute story.

Ha ha - I'm back - lovely time in Athens...
sitting out of an evening over candlelit
dinners and just enjoying each others
company.
I loved your little Tale...
with a twist in its Tail....
Mind, if a princess comes along and kisses
him, he might turn into a handsome prince.
smile.

I jealous of your trip. How could you go without me? I always thought there might be some else. Thanks for reading.

This was a unique variation on the evolution of the tadpole. It started of in a magical setting and ended up in a pond.
A great read for children and some adults too

Dear Thomas, I was surprised and somewhat sad at the end of your story, about the tadpole turning into a frog after she thought she would be turning into something beautiful. We all change from what we are into different things, things we don't expect, it's like the caterpillar changing into a butterfly or the ugly duckling into a swan. Even though we may not transform into a beautiful thing such as a butterfly or swan, we are still beautiful as we grow and change. Dove

I have gotten a lot of response from people who think frogs are beautiful. I guess they're looking for a prince. Thanks for reading.

And now you can hear her sing every night as the sun goes down. Rib-it, rib-it, rib-it. Break out the gigs, boys. The sizzling and crackle of those legs frying up in a skillet of grease is making me hungry already. Thanks for sharing another fine story. :-)

Good morning, Thomas
Good, tight post. The tadpole's sense of self-importance, that her transformation would be one of wonder and isn't, bespeaks of individuals I've known.
Especially liked the last sentence.
Take care and stay safe,
Ray
