Adorable! Love the play on words - "faux pas" (paws) and more obvious "doggone"! Great use of alliteration as well!
Puppy
faux Pas
Poor
Poochie
Love this! :)

Thank you so much for your lavish compliments, Shirley!
Besides me, only one person voted for "Mortified." If that insightful person was you, another thank-you for saving me from the whole FS body witnessing my mortification being the sole voter to show appreciation for my work. If it wasn't you, I'm sure you would have accounted for a third vote if you weren't awaiting the birth of an overdue grandchild in the hospital that day, or doing something equally pressing.
Thanks again Shirley, and I hope the baby is doing well. (if there was one.)

It was me, and I was shocked that it only rec'd 2 votes. But don't feel bad, same thing's happened to me. And I believe one time I rec'd just my own vote ...and my poem was good!

I'll see your "one time I received just my own vote..." and raise it by about twenty just-my-own-vote's! My work is more disliked than yours, so don't be such a show-off! And thanks for that vote.

Thanks for this and so many of your complimentary reviews, Gypsy!
As to the contest, interestingly, the poem got only one vote besides mine, and finished in a four-way tie for third place! There also was a four-way tie for first place (four votes) and a three-way tie for third (three votes).
Hmm. Maybe that isn't so interesting. Sorry, Gypsy.

Very sweet and charming. The face on the pup is precious and your 5-7-5 touches the heart. Nicely done and I wish you much luck in the contest. Marilyn

Adorable little puppy with those sweet little puppy dog eyes. Makes you want to pick him up and cuddle him.
Very nice 5/7/5 poem for the writing prompt.

Cute picture and the poem describes the viewer's questions well. I like how each line refers the the cute canine in a different way: puppy, poochie and the adjective "doggone."
