Wow Patty, what a courageous young lady you are. No child should ever suffer at the hands of anyone. Very well written story

Wow, married at 18. I was too weird and too into the eighties to even consider such a thing.
I'm looking forward to reading this. Sorry, I've been moving and now only found time to catch up a bit.

Hi Heidi; I hope your move is going well. Thank you for your kind words of encouragement. I'm outlining the next few chapters and trying to finish the last chapter of Gary's story. (And live my life, too.) I hope you will enjoy the story,

I find anyone that can write an honest and open memoir incredibly brave.
The narrative was engaging and I was drawn in. The prologue served it's purpose I that it left curious to learn more.
Thank you for sharing.

Looking forward to following your story!
I like your statement: "I write what I want...and I'm comfortable in my own skin."
Sounds like you've earned the right to have reached that awesome point in your life.

Thank you once again for reading one of my posts. I'm so excited to start on this project. I know it will be difficult to pen some of the chapters, but it will be good to get everything down on paper,

amazing how uplifting, not just healing, it is to write what you want and feel safe to share it with 'the world'! Go for it, Patty!

I will look forward to reading it. I tried the self-story once but half my life, no one would believe and the other half was just too painful. I think it is good to get things out there. Out there they can't hurt you anymore, whereas, inside they can still tear you up. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much for stopping by to read and review. I appreciate your lovely words and the array of stars. I believe this project will continue to show me how much I've grown. I thank you for being willing to take the journey with me,

This is an excellent prologue which draws the reader into the book whilst also setting up what will follow. I particularly like the structure of the ideas here and how the thoughts unfurl slowly to give the reader time to understand and process. I look forward to reading more.

Well said, and good luck to you. There is much we could say to change, but even more not to. It is so good to see you comfortable, and this will reflect in your writing.
Good luck...and go for it.
My best wishes.

OMG Patty, you are so. freakin'. lucky. you got that letter from your mother. I am very happy for you.
I, too, have forgiven and moved on, though writings I've published make my issues seem much more immediate to those reviewing. I just let comments go when people say how sorry they are--I mean, it's perfectly fine for people to comment, but I don't tell them all, "Don't worry, it's over and done."
I'll be very interested to see where all your writing goes this year.
Nice post.

Thank you for stopping by to read and review. Yes, I think this project will help me to finally put all of the mess behind me. I haven't written about a lot of it - in EVER. Thank you for sharing a bit of your story with me. I appreciate that and your support,

This should make an interesting story.
Many directions you could take it in as it grows and develops.
Full-bodied characters are the key to success in a story.

yes, I also have letters in which my mother encouraged me to write so I can see why you treasure your mother's letter because it predicted where you are now. I like this line of meditation upon your next project:
"Sitting here amongst my collection of books, dogs nestled close by, I realize I don't think I ever thought my life would be this way." You then expanded to explain the twists and turns you made, setting the stage for your memoir. Thank you for sharing. i look forward to reading it.
