Congratulations on your win, it was a great entry and such a happy ending. I just heard from my mom in Montreal and she says the storm they just had was the worst (or best) one that she had seen in her life. That is something coming from an 87 year old Canadian. Cheers, j

Thank you j for your kind and encouraging review.
I sympathize with a Canadian who thinks it was a bad storm. She knows what she's talking about.

Dear Mystery Writer,

*smile* Though this is an ADORABLE poem, I don't know if it really fits into the 'uplifting' category. That's a bit of a stretch to me. I wish you'd said something about making the best of the situation or something like that. Made that turn, you know? Anyway, good luck in the contest!

Yes a poem to gladden the heart -portraying an episode when Nature decides to have a final fling with winter as we are on the cusp of Spring and how we respond - carpe diem !

This is a very nicely composed poem. Rhymed well, upbeat and interesting. Your last couple of lines gave a chuckle. A fine entry for the contest. Marilyn

Splendid read! Love how you turned a depressing dump of snow when it's supposed to be spring (indeed how I feel at the moment!) into a fun adventure! Sweet twist at the end that they were too spent from a joyful snow play day that they fell asleep.

Your rhythm and rhyme were beautifully done. What a joy to read out loud.

How very lovely. I can remember being bereft of electricity during an outage briging out the cast iron and cooking in the fireplace surrounded by oil lamps. What a lovely scene. Well done.

Officially spring is in 5 days - hard to believe when we are still wearing winter clothing and coats.

This is uplifting though as you make the best of a not so good situation:)

Good luck in the contest.

Hi Mystery Author
So much fresh air and exercise, it's no wonder you fell asleep by the fire. There's a good feeling to your poem. You tell the story of a fun day in late winter. I remember one similar day in the first week of March. My youngest son was home from university. We had lots of snow, and all we needed was a warm, sunny day. Well, we got it! It was gorgeous. So we hauled out our cross country skis, and drove up to the Westfield Golf Course. There were 3 young girls in their t-shirts! That's how warm it was.
Good rhyme and rhythm to your poem. You've got to rest up for romance!
Nicely penned! Good Luck in the contest. I see no room for improvement here.
cheers

I enjoyed this poem. It advocates the positive when conditions are challenging. It had a very cute, yet true-to life ending.. I am assuming you are older, as the sleep instead of romance scenario is typical LOL I liked the rhyme and rhythm and an easy read. Thank you!!
