This ten-word poem, I Lift My Lamp, depicts the general sentiment felt after President Trump's closing off travel to mid-eastern countries (except where he has business interests). The man is a turd.

He is crazy and the first thing I think about, is the soldiers overseas that are really put in harm's way with this myopic decision. America and Canada are well known for accepting refugees and immigrants looking for a better life. I know alot of people on this site do not agree with me, but I am proud to welcome these poor people into the Canadian life.
Like Justin Trudeau said, we are not welcoming refugees, but new Canadians. Trump is in for a rude awakening as Grandma would say. Cheers, thanks for the review, j

-Good image.
-You have the 10 required words,
and made good use of them.
-Imagery is effective.
-Lady Liberty always there, representing
the diversity of this country.
-Your conclusion seems to reflect the
current time, but hopefully, not for long.

Perhaps Donald Trump has never read or just does not understand Emma lazarus's famous words:
"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

You have justifiably borrowed the last line of her sonnet to effectively make the point of the decisions this new president is making.

The two simple words you have added make all the difference. very effective piece in just ten words.
