I'm sorry for your loss. . .sadly, as our own years pile up
we see more and more of our friends and loved ones
pass over :-( I'm glad to hear she had such a good long
run though :-)

Hi friend, yes I often think of that with my wife's folks in their 80's and attending more funerals as the days go by. Thanks again.

Death has no specific date. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read. There is very good imagery.

Thanks Bro Charlie sadly I am not sure if Aunty ever came to a knowledge of salvation. She did attend a Billy Graham Crusade meeting here in Sydney same year Mum and I were both saved 1959. Be a nice surprise if we see her in Glory.

I am so sorry for you loss. So many people are losing loved ones lately. I lost 5 in three months. I told the funeral director at the last one that we were going to have to stop meeting like this. It was my attempt to whistle in the dark. It sounds like you are going through the same thing, and this beautiful poem is your way of whistling in the dark.

Well done, thank you for sharing,
Rhonda

Thanks Sis. Not sure Aunty Lorna is with the Lord sadly but I won't mind the surprise if we see her in Glory. Funerals seem to happen in threes...suspicious I know but oh well.

Too funny! Well, I had a sixth one counting a former student who passed away, but I didn't go to his funeral.

A very well-written poem and a reminder of how short life is. Live every moment of each day as if it is your last moment the best you can without regrets.

Losing relatives and friends is disconcerting with a feeling of time being short, but whilst there is life there is a will to live it well, covering all options is a good way to go too! Love Dolly x

Hi Geoff,

Diana and I are so sorry for the loss of your Aunty Lorna. The more pages we've turned on the calendar, the more frequently we receive this kind of news.

I will be 70 in March and I am, literally, the oldest living person in my family. All 4 grandparents and all aunts and uncles are now gone. I am the oldest sibling and the oldest of all cousins in the family. Thus, if anyone dies in my family, they will be younger than me.

Wishing you and your family peace and strength. God Bless,

Alan

Thanks mate. Sadly I don't believe we will see Aunty Lorna in glory. But always happy to be wrong.

Sometimes being wrong isn't such a bad thing! Let's hope for it.

I am sorry for your loss but know God is delighting in another sheep in his fold. A good message to everyone. Get right and stay right.

Thanks Sis unfortunatley I don't believe my Aunty was saved. I trust as the proceedings go forward hearts may be touched with their need.

Yeah well if I get to see Aunty Lorna in Glory I will be most pleased. She was a good woman. But our goodness does not save us.

Sankey, I am sorry for your loss of your dear Aunt Lorna. Your poem is right when you say "Get your heart right with God today."

In terms of structure, I feel a word is missing from "We will away." Perhaps, "We will go away." I do not know. You may want to work with that one line.

Thank you for sharing and instructing. Once again, I am sorry for your loss.

As we get older, losses become more frequent, reminding us of our mortality and the need to get our house in order. My condolences to you and your family at this sad time.
