This speaks an experience of feeling the sentiment of a dog Old Beauty which became jealous of another puppy at his young now he is old but a little girl still loves him like before, he feels; I liked.

Oh my gosh, I love this story. Such a great story about dogs being jealous but still loved by the family. As one dog lover to another, this story touches my heart. Nice photo with your story, too. Well done.

Thanks for reading and commenting. I was the little girl and Beauty was the first dog I can remember in my life.

PBB,
This is a fine entry for the 50-word story. I can definitely see how an old (but beloved) pet might get the wrong idea when a new friend is brought into the house. So glad there was someone handy to notice and provide the comfort she needed. Sweet! Thanks and good luck!

Awww, how sweet is that. It's even bittersweet. I loved your wee story for the contest. It brought along a lot of emotion, and that's well done to do that in so few words. All the best. Ulla:)))

Aww. I love this sweet story. When I started reading, the story made me sad. The ending made my eyes misty with happiness for the old dog. I once had a cat that sulked for an entire year when we got another cat. After a year, he decided that the other was there to stay and started being himself again. Thanks for writing and sharing.

Yep, animals do get jealous just like people. Thanks for reading and the six stars.

Awww, that is the sweetest doggy story ever. In 50 short words, you made us feel for Old Beauty, and rejoice when she was comforted.
I just wrote a 100 word story, and I can't imagine one with 50 words, yet, you pulled it off with grace.
Good luck in the contest,
Rhonda

Our memories are so warm of our first dog. This is a delightful story of how your dog felt so ignored and left out but you reminded her she is special. I wish you well in the contest.

This is absolutely adorable. Telling a story in 50 words is too hard to do. This tiny story is big on detail and emotional impact and ties everything up in a nice tidy conclusion. Good luck in the contest.

Thanks. The contest for this story was some time ago. I just decided to promote the story again to get it recognized.

PrettyBlueBirds... Aww, this is such a sweet and sad account of a childhood memory. It is a very well written story that allowed the reader to feel the excitement of a new puppy; the rejection Old Beauty must have felt and the love of a little girl for her loyal companion. Wonderful read. ~DD

Even animals can feel the sharp thorns of jealousy. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very interesting read. There is good imagery.
