Congratulations on a long happy marriage. Not many of them last until the golden years. Many newlyweds could learn from your example. I also think you chose your repetitive line well. "Through hungry years we laughed out loud." Any worthwhile relationship requires the commitment to work and support each other through the good times and bad. You have to have the drive to endure such an adventure.

you have written a wonderful tribute to your husband--the kind we would all like to have. I assume the nice picture is of your family. The poem flowed when read aloud and though it rhymed some was slightly forced. you certainly filled the requirements of a repetitive poem and your line reflected a good and happy marriage. I liked what your poem told me and I think that is more important than form.

This is a true love poem, expressing a love that obviously endured with joy and laughter. I thought the repeating line was a good choice and created a strong image in the mind of the reader, an image of two people who loved enough to be able to face the difficulties life brings and never forget to laugh out loud.
