There is nothing inherently wrong with this tale, but it doesn't really go anywhere. The story is very light. I was waiting for some small lesson to be incorporated but it didn't come.
the heavy fruit to the class room - classroom.
The punctuation such as full stops and commas should really come inside the speech marks.
"Another hour", Douglas asks amazed - the dialogue should have a question mark.
All the best

Hi Robina
Funny reading this after my daughter made us pumpkin soup last week in France while we were there over the Christmas. It was delicious. You have written a lovely story about the children in the class waiting for to have some.
Well done

A nice children's story about making pumpkin soup in class. What were the other ingredients that went into it, and what did it taste like? I might make it with my students. haha.
Have a wonderful New Year,
Rhonda

I could smell the soup and my stomach rumbled too. I've steamed pumpkin before, but I've never made pumpkin soup--now, I want to give it a try! VMarguarite's artwork is perfect for your warmhearted story. Cheers and sweet dreams- Joan

Cute kids' story. It's great for kids to learn how to do things like making pumpkin soup. A nice class project. It would be especially challenging for them to make it from a pumpkin. (I'd use a can of puree.) I think pumpkin soup would need more than just the water. Add some cream or milk and chicken broth, maybe. Your dialogue works well. Remember to leave a space between speeches to separate the different speakers. judi

I've never heard of pumpkin soup so I learned something today.
I'm not a pumpkin fan, but I'd give it a try.
A nice bedtime story.
Easy to read and imagine.
Well Done!

That's a great idea Ine. I never in my life thought about making a soup out of pumpkin. My son loves pumpkin pie, but he eats the entire pie when he gets started. Maybe pumpkin soup would fill his need for pumpkin? LOL Cute story. Children will like it I think. XXX Nancy
