A well-written contest entry. Your well-chosen words flowed well line to line combining easily and forming the message of the poem for the reader. I think you completed the challenge of the contest well

This is an exciting time of the year for Christ. We can tell the story
and remember. Great photo and witness of the greatest story ever!
I would change your title to born in a stable not barn - try to keep
them the same. Merry Christmas to you! flylikeaneagle

Your title made me grin, it called to mind my mom's endless admontion, "Shut that door! Were you born in a barn?" TS Eliot hints that the Inn was a den of drinking, gambling caravan drivers. Maybe the stable was more tranquil...just musing. Ten words and a strong faith message, should be a runner in the contest. Excellent.

Sometimes you don't have to say very much to have a great message. I enjoyed reading your poem and I think you nicely gift wrapped it. Great artwork choice. Happy Holidays.

The first Christmas reduced down to ten words. These poems are terribly difficult to judge. I guess all you can hope for is some unity of subjectivity. So I will wish you luck. The seasonal theme could go down well at this time.

A very well-written ten-word poem with a wonderful spiritual message of the birth of Christ in a stable, as God planned it right from the start.

The brevity of this poem is understandable. The meaning of this poem through just 10 words is achieved. The illustration depicts the poem sentences and the background color was well chosen to go with the meaning of the poem. I read your notes. I can understand your summary of the meaning. My first bible class taught me that Mary/Joseph didn't have money to pay to stay at the inn, but the inn keeper was kind and understanding though and offered Mary to stay in his barn. There were many reasons that God had Jesus born in the barn rather than at Mary's house (she was fleeing from human's justice). I respect Jesus and God as I am a Buddhist. My understanding is that God wanted to teach us "low" people to be humbled in our life as we all will encounter many difficulties just as Jesus had to make a model for us that he, too, suffered, though unnecessarily I thought. Thanks for sharing with me, cumulus
