I'm so glad I'm not the designated cook for holidays anymore. Too much work makes a person miss the joys of the holidays. Nice poem with even, smooth rhyme and meter.

Oh how I relate to the roast potatoe challenge. I enjoyed the poem, it brought back memories of stress if the visitors were late , and potatoes were just right to be served! That poem was a refreshing account of Christmas while including the star of the day.

Wow! Lovely Christmas poem and huge circle of people to feed which means they have heaps of friends to celebrate the festivities with. Nice rhyme from start to end and good flow of words too. And of course, a beautiful image too. I love roast potatoes but my wife prefer mashed. Thanks for sharing your beautiful poem. All the best in the contest.

LOL - it does seem sometimes that the demands of
Christmas gatherings leave us too preoccupied to
remember the catalyst for the frantic preparation.
I'm with you. . .a smaller gathering offers us a much
more meaningful celebration :-)

Persevere,
You've made a very good point in this nicely written
and rhymed poem...Preparations often overtake the
reason why we celebrate.
You conveyed that very well here. At first I was
feeling sorry for you...with 40 guests and 50
potatoes.
Four is more than we will have;)
Enjoy your holiday and thanks for sharing,
Linda

If it were me having to plan for roasting these 50 potatoes everything else would be put on hold,,,,no poems etc. Thank you for your detailed review, Sweet Linda. I wish you a blessed Christmas

I love the way your poem went from an interesting baking potatoes story to your simple story of a small group with reflection on Jesus in the stable. It tells much with wonderful subtlety. Well done.

Your Christmas poem is well written and I enjoyed reading it. It flows and rhymes well and I like your delightful message about cooking for many people on Christmas. Your artwork choice goes well with your poem. Happy Holidays.
