I like anything of remembrance when it counts for the sacrifice of for others.
Thoughtful entry.
One line you need to look at;

''Hesitated not to answer your country's call''

It has two meaning: the one you meant and also the other, which could mean;

He hesitated, reluctant to enter but did in the end.

This is mostly because of the absence of punctuation.
Work a little with that line and it will be fine, even if most know what you mean, it will cause some to stop and analyze instead of flowing through the narrative.
Good luck in the competition.
Best wishes.

    RGstar,

    Thanks so much for your review, very kind comments and best wishes. When I penned that thought came across my mind if it would confused the reader.. So far it appears that it is understood the way I meant it. Yet I will try to make it clear. Thanks so much for your thorough review. Blessings my friend.................Portia

Very nicely written acrostic. It covered the veterans from almost everyone's angle without losing the flow and rhythm. We must always remember that all veterans and active duty have given, or are giving, a part of their lives for their country. Good write. Good luck in the contest.

Super piece honoring our military. I might put an apostrophe after "ones" in the line, "memories of loved ones' lives unrecovered." Just a small thing. Thank you for reminding us of their strength and sacrifice.

Once again my friend, you come out of the, no posting corner, with sincere words, giving thanks to much deserving topic, am I just missing you are have you shifted gears, this rhyme pattern I could not pin down but beauty in the music sang by the placement sounded so sweet too me. To/Too, at least I write perfectly "I Love You, LOL"

    Ronnie,

    Thanks so much for your review, six star rating and very kind review. You know this topic is very dear to my heart. My husband served in the Vietnam and Gulf wars and now suffers from PTSD and is totally disabled. When I first joined Fanstory in 2012, the very first poem I penned and posted was an Acrostic about PTSD.

    Now, we are still going to work on the "to and too," so don't give up my friend. I love you too....Blessings my friend.....

A very well-written acrostic poem and an excellent presentation. We ca never repay them for their service, but we can always honor and remember them.

Beautiful acrostic honoring all those that have, and still do serve. My entire family is military, so I know firsthand what the losses are, this is a lovely tribute, blessings...

Being one of these, though I never considered myself a hero, it is satisfying to know that there are those out there who are grateful for what was done and the sacrifices made. There are those who believe that to hold such memories dear is to glorify war, but mostly they are those who have never had the misfortune to experience it, probably because of the efforts made by those who have. Thank you.

Great entry to the contest. The men and women who died in battlefields deserve to be remembered for who they are and what they have done to protect the country. Well done. Blessings, Ella
