A very well-written 1-6-1 poem. Santa depends on his deer to steer his gear straight and clear on Christmas night to deliver all those gifts all over the world.

Thanks. Yep, without Santa's deer, many gifts wouldn't make it to their destination.

I've always felt that enjambment is the key to making these short 1-6-1 forms read best, especially since all the end words have to rhyme.
This one is not only timely for the season, but reads very well.
Great job with this difficult little form of poem.

Thanks! Love that Santa dancin', jivin' and really getting into the spirit. Appreciate all your comments. After thinking about it, I changed 'gear' to 'cheer' .... since that's what the reindeer are intending on Xmas Eve. Appreciate your comments.

This a good contest entry with the Christmas theme loved the picture but I think using the word dear in 2 different context takes away a bit from the poem suggestion what about reindeer steer Santa's gear only a suggestion regards Jill

Steer it straight to my house with lots of fun packed in that bag. Wonderfully done. It reminds me of my grandson, he would definitely send Santa's helpers this order. I did change the word, 'gear' to 'cheer' since that's what Santa and his reindeer are doing - steering/spreading cheer along the way.
