This is a somber and very moving poem. It has a good smooth conversational tone as if it is speaking directly to those who need to hear its message. Also, the presentation is calming.

Good entry.

I loved how you used the darkness before dawn to contradict the refreshing light of the sunrise. This theme was paralleled with hope and fear throughout the poem. I really enjoyed the sixth line, "steal compassion's hope; on winds of fear they're borne". All I can say is wow! I am new to all this, and this poem really inspired me to keep working on my poetry.

This is a very beautifully written piece! It shows your faith so well. I also liked the author notes to explain what I was reading!!!!

This is a very introspective poem. I like the comparison of how things look in the dark and then in the light. Very good contrast. The rhyme is good but I think you spelled "wane" wrong. (Not sure,)

This is a great read proclaiming a hope that total isolation is not an end, but may serve as a means to an end. The end being the dawn and the end of isolation. Unfortunately,in my own experience, total isolation included an absence of feeling Gods presence and was not always renewed at dawn.
Total isolation can certainly be a fearful thing.
The flow and the idea of your two stanza poem, however, were easily engaging and a well written piece. Good luck in the contest.

Meter, rhymes, a verse of scripture- a lot like an Australian chap whose work I read sometimes. Anyway this looks like an excellent two-stanza wonder to me.

Excellent descriptive words describing the feelings at dawn. I think the dawn can bring forth feelings of loneliness. I admire your use of rhyming words, smooth and they add to the strength of the poem.

I agree, there's something about the darkness that allow doubts and fears to multiply. But the light brings hope and the feeling that we CAN conquer and survive. Very nicely said. Good luck!

A very nice vivid poem with excellent word choice to progress it. The picture attached also fit very well with the poem's message. Fantastic work and best wishes regarding the two stanza contest!

I can imagine that. There are two types of alone. Loneliness can be awful, thinking you are totally alone, scary alone with no one who cares or even knows you exist ... and being alone, the peaceful comfortable alone. You express it well in your poem, very well done and good luck in the contest. :) Sandra xx
