Hi))))))))))))... I've seen it on mountain tops, I've seen on TV... I've seen it depicted in photo's, pictures and paintings... but alas, I have to take your word and joyous memories as gospel for I never had the fortune or privilege to delve into the feel of snow.

But that's not saying I didn't feel it vicariously through your wonderful description... so... all the very best in this contest dear author... yes, a woman's touch... oops, I hope! Sorry if I am wrong.

With our thoughts we create,
the soft patterns of joy.

Yes, for many of us the carefree childhood days of playing in fresh snow are a fond memory. I climbed the mountains of packed snow my father created while clearing the driveway, and slid down the far side into soft snow up to my chin! He had to reach down and pull me out.... (We had a lot of snow there sixty years ago.) Snow is a lot more fun before you realize you have to drive in it. You capture the mood well with this poem.

Children love the snow!....then, well I guess it loses its thrill.. lol!

Yes, for children, snow is just fun, both to look at and to play in. When you must shovel it for six hours to clear your driveway (as I have done more than once), it does lose its charm. And if it keeps
coming down so fast that you turn around and see little trace of what you cleared, it's disheartening. (That happened to me once on a workday. I went inside and called my manager, and he said not to
worry, they're sending everyone already there back home before they get snowed in at work....) A place about fifty miles east of where I lived once had SEVEN FEET of snow within two days! -- Mike

Nice to see how "the season's first snow".affected the Speaker in a positive way. Not me!
Your poem also gives us a picture we can easily visualize.

Indeed reminds the reader of the glee felt in childhood when it snowed for the first time. Makes me look forward to my first snowfall this winter even though I'm an older adult. Lovely short poem.
