Ah! This would appear to put thanksgiving into perspective. What is it you are all giving thanks for anyway? Democracy? Look where that has got you. Trumped.

Hi Starkat,
In light of this November, I'll cast my vote for more pie! lol Nice play on words in this nonet: Pilgrim's progress, guests gobble, etc...
Good luck in the Nonet contest.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks, Kim - and Happy Thanksgiving to you, too! Glad you enjoyed the word choices and ideas in this nonet. I have to remember to leave room for more pie - as sometimes I'm stuffed. Cheers ... ;o) Art

I love these holiday poems. They give me such a warm feeling. Like when I was a kid. They bring back a lot of memories for me. Thank you.

Well, that's kind of sad. *smile* I think you summed up the whole Thanksgiving holiday in 45 syllables! HAHAHAHAHA Seriously, this is a fun poem and should do well in the contest! Good luck!

Nicely done nonet which shows how most overeat on Thanksgiving. What a beautiful turkey. Looking at it makes me hungry.
Keep writing.

Hi
a very good description of a thanksgiving day or it could be a Christmas day to. All syllables are correct. I wish you luck in the contest.

This is a very good entry for the contest
with correct syllables to the form
Excellent imagery of Thanksgiving
and nice word play with "gobble"
and a touch of history, too
Leave out the politics, just pass the pie
Perfect picture match
Well done
Best wishes for the holiday
and the contest

I used to hate it when people referred to Thanksgiving as turkey day. Now I'm not so judgemental. Now I say when do we eat? And pass the pie.

We eat next Thursday. So far, we have 18 guests for T-Day. There will be many types of pie - pumpkin, mince, pecan and cherry .... so, take your pick. Cheers ... ;o)
