It is a beautiful piece of artwork that shows loneliness. Blue is always the color of sadness and loneliness.
Conrgrats on placing in the contest.

my good ness how well you have described being stood up in a very poetic way. The all blue presentation was also an integral part of the mood you set. I liked your little poem. good job

Awww, how sad to have to sit and wait on your lover when they are expected for supper, or whatever occasion. One thing I can say about my husband, and that's that he's never later for food. lol. He's a farmer. Now, sometimes supper isn't to be expected until the sun goes down.
Never the less, I'm sure there are many who can relate!
As for the poem, it was a beautiful study in blue. The color enhancing the message, and visa versa.
Great job,
Rhonda

Yes, it is sad to know this feeling of abandonment affects a lot of people. Those of us who are fortunate enough to have someone regularly come home for supper must appreciate it - late or not! Thank you for your fine review.

This is the poster child for making a short poetic statement that plants volumes of ideas in the reader's mind, as to what it all looks like, feels like, & what it all means. Even if not exactly the romantic interlude described here so well, similar scenarios play out all the time in people's lives. I can almost feel the disappointment when the word "again" is dropped like a ton of bricks.

A great poem. I invited a girl to come for dinner once. I prepared a lovely meal, put on some romantic music and set out two wine glasses. She didn't show.

A very well-written Cinquain. The untouched glasses a picture of blue solitude. In the background hear the mournful music playing. An excellent artwork to compliment your poem.

Thank you for your encouraging words.

I love this poem! It not only fulfills the requirements of the cinquain form, but does so with singleminded focus. I believe the meaningful relationship between the first and last lines is not a coincidence.
Good luck in the contest!

Thank you so much. I was trying to create a mood based on two glasses and what might have been the expectations. Alone again. Glad you enjoyed it.

This is great. Everything about it, picture, as well as, wording, fit perfectly. It has a very strong message that is quite clear. Not only is the message clear, but it leaves a solid feeling of sadness.
