Your poem meets the syllable and line count requirements. It's more cerebral than emotional. Because of this, it was harder to make a connection to the poem.

Congratu (1/2 of congratulations since it is a tie.) This contest was a most excellent way to examine one's fundamental understanding of haiku and Zen. Your poem does not use the word Zen as one of your syllables for which I applaud you. For, as you may have noted in my review of this contest to write a Zen haiku, I am using the word Zen a lot. You examined, something stimulated, and the word Zen never made it to the contest page. Well done. I think you should have won without a tie because your poem was sans Zen.

Well done. Self reflection is good for the soul. If we are to be better people we must critique and coach ourselves up. That is what I get from this piece . A well written haiku can convey a lot in a few words and that is what you have done. Congratulations and best top you.
