I relished the energy in the artwork you selected and the notion of catching happiness. We have been fortunate to have a replay of summer these last two weeks in Southern California, with temperatures in the 80's. I enjoyed your 5-7-5 and wish you well in the contest and this autumn- Joan

I love the uninhibited tone of your message here. "Catching a case of happy" is well illustrated in your artwork, too -- definitely my favorite line. I think the final line might be crafted to include more imagery, tho. But all in all, convincing message.

"A case of happy". That is a great expression. I love the way you workerd that into your 5-7-5. Whether the poem or the artwork came first is neither here nor there it too catches "acase of happy". Good work in a shortform poem.

This is so cheerful - I enjoyed it very much - made me smile, except...the artwork is great too, but my heart is in my throat for those children. Has anybody else noticed the depth of water they are about to land in? Suddenly I don't feel well...especially for the two who are heading in head-first...

Then again, the artwork has nothing to do with the technical skill of the poem itself, and it's top notch. Good luck in the contest.

I see your point! Ouch, those little heads...Maybe they are used to those tricks! - I selected this picture for the air of vibrancy in a sunny day, I used to act crazy in those days at the beach. Thank you for reading my work.

...but then a real-life news story about a teen who had the an accident (doing the same thing) and wound up paralyzed from the neck down for the rest of his life...
