Hi ATK I guess in life that all of us have those days where we just want to disappear get away from it all, don't talk to anyone, don't look at anyone, don't smile anyone just be invisible, I have those days every now and then

Your rhyme reminds me of the old masters. What a wonderful cadence there is to your poem. So easy to read, so musical. A lovely story in a sweet song. Thank you for sharing your gift. Dorinda

This poem, Kona State of Mind, fills me with a little grief as I think that you would leave paradise seeking something better. Turn around right now and go back. Find another island.

I guess this means you can run away to Kona in order to locate your rainbow there. Perhaps you could ask the Hawaiian goddess Pele for help, but you may need to watch a few sunrises or sunsets in the shadows of some volcano.
Not sure if Jim Morrison or Jimmy Buffet ought to join you on the plane, but this poem seems reminisceny of both those singer-songwriters

Good rhyming and rhythm. Your poem conveys a deep sense of sadness. I'm sure many can relate to this as we've all gone through times in our lives when we've just wanted to runaway and hide. I love how you open and close with sitting at the airport, suitcase by your side. A compelling read that draws one in. When we're in the middle of storms of life they seem like they'll never break, but they do ... keep looking for that rainbow, it's there! Nice work. Thank you for sharing! Sue P. :)

Dear Abby says Get a Life. Stop traveling to search for some illusive someone or other, some hopeless dream. Make the best of what you find in LA and stop running. Besides, travel can be expensive. You do an excellent job of creating mood, and the rhyme is excellent. judi

Hello Friend good to see you back and posted a very sentimental poem about searching for your rainbow and traveling on trains to find a friendly face.

I enjoyed reading this - it could easily be the words to a country/western song.
I can easily see this dude going from airport to airport, running away, but never really getting anywhere.

I like the words to your poem
I bet many members can relate
It's sad to be in a new town and not one friendly face around.
Thank you for sharing.

Chasing a rainbow can be like wishing on a star.Somethings are just not meant to be.we can't always have things turning out how we want it too.
