The poem is appealing in color and words, but a hot cup of
apple cider is the last beverage
I would desire, even if
traditional. I have never
understood why people do not mulch the leaves with
the lawn mower...less time and bags..Here they come now..leaves blowing from the park in tons...

Thank you, Nika, for your kind review ... especially Italy since you don't care for cider. We mulch with the mower at the beginning of the season, but it's impossible to mow with a foot of leaves covering the ground. Thanks for your comments.

I especially like the line "sweet sip of autumn" because it reminds me of the hot cider we would only get to experience in the fall at my grandmother's farm. Strong imagery and use of sensory words to bring the reader into the poem.

I really like your short form contest entry, it speaks of comfort, relaxing after a time of activity raking up leaves. Our native trees are evergreen so we don't see much autumn colour here, although we experienced the beauty of New England in 2014, this time, well done, great poetry, blessings, Roy

Great subtle pun in the closing line! I loved this. tasted it. Yum! Autumn is my favorite season and something I miss now, living in he tropics in India. Superb medley of S and soft C. Sounds great read aloud. Fine flow too. Pitch perfect Satori. Wish I had a six. Kudos on winning the contest...I can see why!

Warmly, rd

An excellent example of this type of poetry. Good luck in the contest. When My cousin and I were ten his father set us up a cider stand by the road.

After two weeks we were our best customers. It had turned hard.

LOL that's so funny and what a wonderful image of two ten year olds getting ripped drinking their own cider. Thanks for your kind words and review for my poem.

Recently I had the pleasure of drinking apple cider. Your words remind the reader how delicious it is. Your words make the reader smile and show the beauty of Autumn with one of her many treats.

Okay. I can see this. Feeling like a cup of hot cider is like having all of autumn condensed down into one beautiful, magical cup to drink. *smile* Lovely thought. Good luck!
