Dear Jimi
Simply stunning. You set alive all the senses in your sensual, eclectic poem - such a worthy poem for POM nomination. You make the ordinary and mundane morning ablutions spark with awareness and texture, then the "coffee pot gurgles with aroma". The daydream of the craving for all that stimulates in the moment and a waft into past desire.
"The stroke of eight chimes
I sigh..." - brings it all into place, back to reality and what is actually coded by that damn clock! Sigh ... if only we could float in our dreams and awakenings forever ...
... though really ... no disappointment in the reality ... life has its ups and downs, facing each day with chagrin has no point, when one can feel alive, renewed and ready to move on and face what may bring joy and what may challenge that joy.
I love when you write like this ... your own unique signature. I'm so thrilled for you to have the honour of third placement in the POM and just a tip behind two of our best poets, Maureen and Ray. To have a 'Craving' is deeper abd usually connected to Emotion such as love or hate.
To,crave is to want while a craving is a need.

I can hear the pink of the sugar cube in a cup. You fill your poem with other details of sight, sounds, tastes, smells, and textures, inviting the reader to experience the morning with you as you slowly awaken and take it all in. I think we can get caught up in the same old routine and we forget how to actually live and enjoy life. Most of the time it's just another day but it shouldn't be this. This is a good reminder to all of us.

Once again you write a poem filled with personal feelings. You bare yourself. You open up to us. In doing so, your poem becomes so real. You keep the reader reading. I really enjoyed this one.
"Coffee pot gurgles with aroma" ...(I like this line, but suggest that you omit "with".
Coffee pot gurgles aroma. Or, to use some "m's" for smoother reading,
Coffee pot murmurs aroma.)
"and I begin to crave" ...(rather than use "crave" over and over, where you've already used "cravings" earlier, what about changing to these synonyms:
dream
fancy
need
ache for .....and call the poem "Cravings" instead of "Crave".)
"with the sleepy grin
and the stubbled chin" ... (I like to cut out words that don't add much to the poem, like "the"
with the sleepy grin
and stubble chin; ... note "stubble" instead of "stubbled")
"yet the closet and clock begs my dress" ...(beg)
"The lent of neediness is removed" ...( I suggest,
poverty is removed)
