I love to read your humorous stories and this one was really good. I do hope you are keeping them for publication as I think they would go great in a book. I found no need for correction as your punctuation seemed correct. Your wordage is Australian and is one of the things that helps carry the story along. Great job.

Thanks Sis. Believe you mean it was chockablock FULL of SPAGS prior to Jax Franklin's very extensive Review. Grammarly and Spell check let me down. FS Spell check never works properly ANYWAY. I remember watching an episode of "Midsumer Murders" in which the postman had affairs with several women on his route going on. I don't know what the attraction was. Our U.S. postal service is always in the red, maybe because it really delivers in spectacular fashion. Not so much use of the mail any more, though, because fewer people send cards and letters via mail. Great story of the postal service in Australia. Companies like UPS usually leave packages at the door. Usually one or the other of us is at home. judi

I think we saw that particular episode of Midsummer murders. I wanted to get them on DVD but boss said NO! I particularly liked this photo of the posties leaving GPO in the city back in the 90's I think. I plan on using some of the picture on my book cover.

I didn't know that, in the U.S., the little flag on the mail boxes indicated that there was mail to go out. I've often seen that in films, but never knew its true purpose. (BTW I live in the U.K.) So, you get a thumbs up from me for that.

Your experience of regularly getting misdirected mail strikes a chord with me. I have exactly the same problem with a house around the corner from me that has the same number as mine. I live in XXXXX Way, and their address is XXXXX Close. I guess posties are prone to the same mistakes the world over.
For your information - just in case you didn't know - the U.K. Post Office recently formalised a Preferred Neighbour scheme. Each house is invited to nominate a neighbouring address to receive packages if they are out.
Overall:
This is a nice feel good piece. You have an easy style of writing. I enjoyed reading it, being entertained and informed. I'm assuming that you are a retired postie yourself. Well done.

Only learned about the flag on the US Boxes a little whi;le ago. I always suspected that was it's purpose and had it confirmed recently. Not a retired postie sorry I did retired from the Australian Public Service in 1997, though. I had worked for the Government for my last 18 years of employment before retiring on Disability. You would have seen that if you have read my autobiography on here still unpublished and still unfinished in some ways hehe. I plan on using some of that photo I put on of our Sydney posties leaving our GPO in the 90's on the cover of my story if it ever get's published. The neighbour thing for leaving parcels sounds good as well. If you want to read my aurtobiography look for "The Little Dog That Wouldn't Let Go"...-subtitled "God Never Lets Go!" Thanks for a lovely review.

Alex will che3ck out your stuff. I am not averse to reviewing even if the reward is lousy, but the story is worth looking at. I am currently loaded with member Dollars as I have been a bit depressed for a while and need to get back into writing. Some of the more professional in here get a bit ticked off at my style but oh well. I have a couple of offerings still in Preview stage. Will definitely look you up. Maybe we can be fans too ha!

This is a very neat short story about the post office and the way it works where you live. We do have mailmen that come to the door and place in the mail in our box but you gave some good advice too. Teri

Sorry if there was still a spag will look again. Jax Franklin picked up a real Spagarama of my spags I gave her three Puumps there was so much of it! Actually do you know if I can share Kindle stuff with Louise? I have the Kindle App for PC from Aussie Amazon If she gets the Kindle App for PC on her Laptop can I share with her or soes she have to buy them herself? I am reading a book on the KIndle app atm about a guy living in a jail in Mexico that seems more like an International Hotel well not really.

I don't think you can share between computers, I'm sorry to say. If you read a lot you can join and borrow thousands of books free, but with just an Amazon account there are lots of free books during promotion that are free and you both could download them.
This web site lists free ebooks, some good and some crap but I've listed my books there when they were give-aways

I often get a neighbor's mail. I just stick it it their roadside box.

Thanks mate. These guys were city posties walking around their alloted route. Out here these days, they come around on motor bikes. I liked this photo as I plan on using it or part of on my Autobiography cover. I think you have seen that? Let me know if not still unpublished and probably still incomplete.

haha Good one. I think a friend of ours used to stuff up on the newer rego labels here in NSW they were now self adhesive not soaked in water to remove backing. I bet she is glad we don't have rego labels anymore do you in QLD still?

Yeah probably right about thieves. You had a heap of errors in your review hehe thanks anyway Jax Frnklin came throgh and did a very through review and it took me ages to go throujgh and fix them all. FS Spell check er is useless and a bit surprised Grammarly let me down this time too.
