-Nice image.
-Thanks for the author notes.
-Good poem with good meter, rhyme, description, and imagery.
-It sounds like you are an avid gardener.
-But winter takes its toll, so there is much work to do:
"It's been too cold, this icy hold, has kept me in instead
while wind has blown, no love I've shown, to my poor garden bed."
-As spring approaches, there will be changes:
"From winters blues, we'll see the hues, so pleasing to the eye"
-For now, though, it is time to go "back to my warming fire."
-Thanks for sharing.

This is quite a rhyming poem
with internally rhymed tetrameter followed by external rhyming trimeter
It reads very nicely with solid meter
As we're in the middle of summer here
it's hard to adjust to the idea of winter
but it will be here soon enough
It is always a joy to see the first buds of spring
and the knowledge that three wonderful seasons will follow
As you can see, I'm not a fan of winter
but I am a fan of excellent poetry, which this is
And excellent art work too
Very nicely done, enjoy spring

The sense of joy is almost tangible and the heart sings 'my heart will sing' at the approach of that most blessed season of the entire year - Springtime- truly a celebration of the natural world

This is such an interesting piece. We forget that the seasons are different on the other side of the world. While I'm enjoying summer, winter has come on you. Much like those of us on the other side, you yearn for spring as well. Thank you for reminding us that we all need and want the same things, no matter how small. Good job and good luck.

I think most of the writers have been enjoying Christine, living in the northern hemisphere. But a marvellously happy, upbeat poem, deserves a clap, for each syllable. Yes we enjoyed a lovely day yesterday, the first in a long long time, but I took my granddaughter to the local park playground, we had a ball, unfortunately the weeds were untended. Loved your even metered, rhyming quatrains, this was a wonderful write, a flower that blooms in its own warmth, well done, blessings, Roy

Hi Linda, I am glad your smiled and wow you seem to be having a heat wave in Illinois. Some summers can be very hot and dry and we have had a few droughts in recent years so brown I've seen but at the moment it is lush green everywhere, but also many weeds LOL. I do love a good rhyme and this just wrote itself , so I am so pleased you stopped by, so Thank you for doing so and keep out of the hot sun. Have a great day Linda. Cheers Christinexx
