Don, another ribbon for your tree.
This short 1-6-1 poem rhymes well and has a cute picture to help tell the story. It is always the mom that gets sick last. She has to look after everyone first then when she is under the weather some TLC can be thin in returning her back to health... sometimes (wait..what.. was I talking about myself?..)
Merry Christmas Don. ~DD

DD, I'm puzzled as to how you came to review this poem, and the other one from Saturday. And the ribbons. ??
I posted this one in July, and the other in June. Apparently, you gave me Christmas ribbons, but I have no idea what actually happened. Something must be going on on FS that I'm unaware of. ??????

Now, about the mom in the poem. Actually, the kid got the flu from his dad, and most reviewers, including you, assumed it was mom. If you re-read, though, you can figure it out. So, you have a good reason to feel abused. (I enjoy writing stuff that requires a bit of thinking to "get," - even though the FS folks don't seem to want to participate, which I'm reconciled to.)

And, speaking of old business, your review of my quinzaine poem still is branded with the four stars, and to make it worse, the only other review was a fourer , or the same reason - and so, they both count, with no other reviews offsetting them.

Do your time zones correspond to ours" I mean are you all asleep and sweaty) when we're in the sunshine (playing in the snow)? Are your Santas in shorts? Does he come by surfboard, or are you inland? Etc.?

    Don

Hey Don, when I say ribbons I mean I have gone through your profile to see which poems needed a nudge to get a 'recognized ribbon'. My attempt at a Christmas gift to you. I'm not sure if it was received that way though. My reviews pushed your poems over to receive FS's 'recognized ribbons'. Enjoy the gesture, I didn't mean to cause any confusion.

I changed my rating a while ago but... Unfortunately your Quinzaine poem will not shift off the 4 stars status until you get another 5 star to bring up the average. It is frustrating that it sits like that even though it has been rereviewed. That is why, in the past, I have asked you to review one of my poems to nudge it off the 4 star platform after I received a 4 star review.
You either ask the first reviewer to change their rating now that you have adjusted your poem or try and get another review. If you don't want to promote ask one of your fans if they could review it. I hope that helps you Don.
As for my time zone - I will see Christmas before you...just like the new year :-) Merry Christmas ~DD

A cute little1-6-1 poem as he questions if he has the flu because he is experiencing the sniffles. The picture goes well with this little poem, good luck in the contest, " "A Family Matter"

Nice 1-6-1 poem about your child catching the flu from dad! True to life situations. Nice combination of words used to establish your point. Told a story with rhyming words to complete each line. Good luck in contest!

A very well-written 1-6-1 poem. Daddy is to blame when the kid has the sniffles. Dad is the only one that are not sick anymore so he must be the one who gave it away.

Ahh the common tale of the flu doing the rounds in the family. Well done for conveying the concept in such a small space of words. Very appropriate and funny pic too. Good luck with the comp

This 1-6-1, The Kid Has The Sniffles, reminds us of the circle of life for a virus family as one family member after another gets the latest germ going around. Nice.

This is a fine entry for the contest
exact syllables at 1-6-1
Nothing quite like families sharing everything
But I can do without the flu
Very good art work to match
Good luck in the contest

Thanks, RS! I agree. We seem to have a lot in common. I don't like the flu either!
    Cheers,
    Don
