I love the idea that the morning sky is like a flavor of a frozen dessert. The colors that I see when I read this are very vivid and bright with orange and some white in the clouds. The sun is beautiful in the early morning (or evening) with the vast array of color hues that it produces in the sky. Though, I would not eat a dreamsicle in the morning, (maybe a peach yogurt) but you do give a great description in the few words that you use. Awesome!

Summer & ice cream trucks is what you reminded me of here with the reference to dream sickles. Very appropriate metaphor for a sunrise. Effective use of aliteration to help create atmosphere.

A few miles from my home is the ideal place to watch the sun rise over distant mountains. The whole range of sun colors is hit sooner or later.
I am poor judge of Haikus, but this one seems to satisfy the prompt.
