What an outstanding piece of poetry! It paints an incredible picture of the winds and why they occur, and I like how you took inspiration from the Greek gods of winds. It was truly a beautiful, vivid piece! Fantastic work! I would give you a six star review, but I used up my two for 24 hours (LOL). Still a fabulous piece. Best of luck!

Thank you so much for this fabulous review! I appreciate you reading such a long poem for only two cents! It was hard work, but worth it in the end to get it out there. Thanks again, you made my day :))

-For me, this is an extremely complicated form, so I admire you for doing it.
-Not only do you know the forms but all about the winds and their effects, which I think is your field, but you still put it all in poem form!
- For a novice like me, I will say in reading it that the rhyme and meter are excellent, as well as all the detail.
-Each topic is done very well with excellent imagery.
-You sum it up very well:
"As seasons shift, around the sun,
the weather's work is never done,
this earthly tale so well begun"
-I appreciate the author notes and you sharing the poem.

I have to admit, it IS a complicated form. I tried not to use the same rhymes in different stanzas which made it even trickier. Thank you for the review and kind comments! I do know something about winds - I'm a meteorologist, lol. Kind of fun to combine weather and mythology in a poem :)) Carol

You are very welcome for the review and comments. I thought you were a meteorologist. Now, what is your take on this hurricane?! Sounds pretty bad for the Fl. area and some coastal areas, n. of there.

Wow! What a wonderful, complex educational poem
Perfectly suited to the Awdl Gynt form
You are clearly in your element here
Nature and mythology woven into words of poetry
It was so much easier when gods controlled the winds
and conditions could change at the whim of a god
Marvelous rhymes blown by the winds
in a precisely metered poem
Erudite, lucid, poetic, beautiful
A ciliverdi delight

Thank you so much Robert...I like what you said about nature and mythology woven together. I did want to make it feel larger than just the local weather effects. I am a meteorologist, which you may know... sometimes when people want to know the weather, I feel like telling them to ask the gods! They know better than we do :))

I really enjoyed this piece. The imagery was amazing. I loved the mood you set. There was so much to enjoy I had trouble pinning a single thing. It was altogether an amazing piece. Very well done.

A Tour-de-Force of the will of the winds wrapped within a fabulous Awdl Gynt format. There so much great imagery and mythological force expressed I could run out of superlatives. Suffice to say - WOW! This is great poetry, your rhymes (all of them) and meter were spot on.

Thanks so much, Tom. It wasn't an easy write, but an absorbing project. It took me awhile to get it all straight - leave it to Gynt to create a complicated form like this! Carol

What a great job on what to me, seems a very difficult poem. Great contrasts and descriptions of the different winds. You also seem very knowledgeable in the meterologic sciences.

Thank you, it was rather difficult due to the cross-rhyme requirements. I am a meteorologist, so that might explain a few things :)) Carol
-
Ah-indeed it does LOL.

I like the use of the wind to describe the effects to weather. You use descriptive words and metaphor well to show drought and its end and the effects of storms on the sea.

Thank you so much, the wind seems to be an ever-present figure of the weather on the California Coast! Carol

No problem. The wind can tell us what is coming no matter where we live.
