A well deserved winner -Nature is well depicted here as an eternal inspiration-stanza four is particularly haunting in its portrayal of the its sensory impact inspiring the poet 'to scribble similes'

I can see why this piece won the contest; there is so much in it to love. I loved the form you chose(a-b-c-b rhyme scheme, octosyllabic lines), and the way in which you maintained an easy, conversational tone throughout. Your word choice was inspired: it speaks to the common man, without assuming said man is unsophisticated. What can one say about your lovely images, your usage of consonance, and the flow of your lines? They were spot on! Thanks for posting it.

I love this. I have always felt God's presence most in Mother Nature. My favorite line is: She greets me every day at dawn
with glist'ning eyelids damp with dew.
I think she is your muse, as well as many others. Nice poem!
