This is a very cute approach to the topic - using your daughter's married name as a catalyst for who and what the gestating baby is hearing.

Nicely done :-)

This is fun to read. I like the idea of starting each stanza with the same phrase. You rhymed it well. You told about each of the people who is waiting for the arrival of the baby. Good job.

I have to admit, I love rhymes that are done well. You've brought a sense of whimsey to your story by including the theme of Horton and the Who. I love the idea. I really enjoyed reading this. It highlights how hard it is to wait, something I have felt 13 times so far. Good luck!

Dear Mary,

Becoming a grand parent is indeed a great joy. Excellent rhyming, cadence, and flow in your poem. I like how you describe the melding of hearts.

Warm regards,

Winslow

Us Grammies wait excitedly for too for those nine months to pass. This is a sweet little contest entry. I love the ending - God's grace:)

I don't know how this could have been written any better or any more clever for that matter! Everybody get 'in on' waiting for the baby, and especially the baby. You don't get that perspective very often. Last time I read anything close to this perspective was Pearl Buck (ya, I'm goin' clear back there). I can't remember the title but of course it was a great book. A good story for almost any age person. Loved it.

Good play on that much beloved Dr. Suess classic, 'Horton hears a Who';, Anonymous Poet. Funny that your daughter's married name is Horton, LOL.
Oh well... you can't win 'em all, right?

This was a very pleasant read. The defined rhythm to each line mad it fun to read out loud. I hope there are many babies for your to cherish.
