I can only hope to spend my last hours on earth with my fury best friends if I am the only human left in my family. Dogs sometimes run off to die alone, and I found it interesting that the man in this story wanted to do the same.

Exceptional

What an exceptional story about how those who feel they want to die and need the comfort of their best friend. I lost my best friend almost three years ago. She was killed in a road that she never went into.

My heart is still broken because "Little Girl" was like my child. We spent many hours taking walks without her on a leash. She was that good. She was so smart and we would play and watched TV together and she slept with me.

I wish you great luck in this contest. Thank you for writing this and the great memories it gave me.

Aggravating, to have to convert a big beautiful TIFF file to a jpeg that
comes up sort of fuzzy in the best of sizes...As an old goat living alone with his dead wife's chihuahua, I like this flash...

I don't know how to convert photos to jpeg, so I guess that's my problem. Never had trouble using photos before, but the last few weeks, th site won't accept them.

I open the tif files in Paint, then save them as jpg.

Thanks for your kind review and comments for my story, Gloria. I think more and more care and rehab centers are allowing pets to visit because they realize how much better the patients do. Th hospital I worked in would allow visits from pets , and there is an organization in my community that bring mostly dogs to hospitals, nursing homes, and rehab centers.
