Made me laugh. I have a 10 lb. cat and a 95 lb. dog and the cat rules. So funny. Nicely done and with so few words. Kudos.

Thank you. Cats often rule the roost. My dog and cats get along great but, if it came down to it, the cats rule.

I've had my share of Ma Cats, too. They rule the roost, whether it's a barn or the alley. Your humorous little story actually made me chuckle out loud. High praise and good work!

Thank you. Ma cat was a unique character. Nobody messed with her unless she wanted you to.

Yes, a definite winner! Congratulations, you deserved it! I have a cat, and no dog would mess with her either, lol! What a wonderful short story all told in fifty words. Very well done. :) Sandra xsx

Thank you. Old Ma was unique among the cat world. Things would be her way or the highway.

Nice work on this piece.
The ending for Snozzer is not pretty; a bloody nose and extreme disgrace as he runs for home with tail between his legs. ' This sentence stood out. You use a semi-colon instead of a comma. The trouble is I don't think you have a verb. Disgrace could have been a verb, but you put an adjective before it, making it a noun. The last part as he runs doesn't fulfill the need either because it's part of continuous action. He runs home, tail between his legs, bloody nose, and extremely disgraced.
Note: I could be wrong about this.
Take care,
Russell

Thank you. On these short-short stories, I forget about verbs and such. I just write. I will correct the semi colon though. Thanks for pointing it out.

Prettybluebirds, you did a great job with such a few words
to tell this humorous story. Poor dog didn't stand a chance
against Old Ma Cat. Good use of every single word.

Thank you. I love the short stories; they are really a challenge.

This is definitely cute. I can picture the scene. Cats will truly tell you off in a minute whether you are big or small. Very hard to do in fifty words but you for sure did it.

Oh, I've known a few cats who were that way. No dogs (and very little else, for that matter!) would mess with 'em.
Good tail...e-r-r-r, heh-heh... I mean TALE, Anonymous Author. Best of luck!

Thank you. LOL I adore the cat you sent me, Dean. Ma was one ornery old cat. Nobody messed with her. If she didn't want you to touch her, you best not.

Hahaha...I'm glad you liked the old cat, Poet, LOL.
I know exactly the type of old cat you're speaking of. I had a tiger cat named Momma. She was feral when she came to me. No one or no-thing messed with old Momma...not until Coyotes got ahold of her in 2014.

Hahahahaha, I love it. That cat is just after my head. Serves the dog quite right. He's found a cat who puts him in his place. Good luck with this. All the best. Ulla:))

Love your tale about the barn cat, I have five cats and my female tiger tabby could be this barn cat, she doesn't have claws but she still wacks the other cats. This is a delightful feline tale.

Thank you. It seems there is always a boss cat. It sounds like your female is one of them. Good thing she doesn't have claws.

He got what he desserved. He shouldn't have been prowling around the neighbor's barn. Who needs a watch dog when you have a cat like yours.

Thank you. Old Ma was quite the character. No dog could enter her barn and live to tell about it, That was her attitude.
