The imagery your poem has is appropriately unsettling in terms of the gore present. However this also comes off as rather confusing as to understand just what is going on for the reader. Is your poem depicting some kind of black sacrifice? If so for what purpose? And what relationship does the woman have with the man she killed to add to become "another trophy" for some reason? The possible questions should be addressed/explained in some way, perhaps in the author notes. Otherwise, it could be difficult to grasp the scene your poem depicts. But nonetheless, good luck to you in the contest.

The prompt was to simply paint a scene. I guess the motive could be open to interpretation but in my mind, she was a serial killer of men. Thanks for reviewing. Sorry it left you hanging.

Fits the bill for evil. Frightening and haunting story well told in great poetic form. Good presentation. Best of luck in the voting.

You sure did paint a scene. I had read and reviewed this before yet it makes no difference as great is great. This entire piece is GREAT.

Unfolds another poem
Of rape revenge told
For the need to be empowered
Comes with the cutting of shafting coward

How bloody these women
Understood for the crime
Still the wonder of the sensual
That comes with the poems write

Evil, decimation, blood, castration, all lovely things and thoughts to ponder before going to sleep tonight seeing how it is Friday the 13th! A scary, gory poem. Excellent poem. Tony Bronk Wisconsin

This is wickedly good. A good creepy entry for sure! Sounds like this chic has done this before! (her trophies) It seems that the villains in this contest are mostly female...hmmm

Wow, I really liked this poem in all its horror. You certainly painted a crimson picture here.
In your subtitle: Delores Claiborne, her heroine = insert space after the comma.
Very well written and good luck in the contest. All the best. Ulla:)

YIKES - boy, does this one fit my mood tonight! Maybe even inspires me to write one! What a poem! "...inhaled his decimation..." This woman is a true psychopath. Chilling, gruesome and a scene right out of the worst horror movie - even a storm to cover it all up...(shudder)! Good luck!

I watched this movie twice I think. I love Kathy Bates in anything. The artwork is wonderful too and adds to the unique thriller-mode of the poem. Then the music
(piano) and all those graves. Well, the world is a hard place. GoodHearted Woman
