I think we never really know how many times God rescues us from disaster- and glad your wife was on holiday. This is a good account of that time. Glad you're both Bible Bashers - there is hope.

Thanks Gail, yep bible bashers or thumpers. Praise God he has now brought the rain, too even though some poli's said prayers were noty what was needed for the rain, oh me! Remind me you are in Britain right?

No sir - I'm in Central Oregon, USA - I've been to England/Wales/Scotland - esp. loved Wales. And believe it or not, we met a fellow the other day - who had traveled a lot and first thing he says is he likes Abergavenny Wales. Which was where my friend and I spent many many days researching her books on WWII history-fiction. I do like that little town a lot. fond memories.

Thanks Ulla, I should have included the statisitics of the deaths and injuries but they might be in the links I provided. Glad you came along. I guess some more of your stuff will be up for me to read today.

Louise seems to think she would not have been killed as she could have been in the taxi going over the bridge, but already with Cerebral Palsy and add more injury and stuff you don't know where she could have ended up. Thanks again. Did you know Michael Cahill? It is his birthday in America today. I posted my poem again I wrote about him.

True, Louise did go in a taxi. But who knows there could still have been collateral damage. Yes. I did know Michael, but I didn't know it was his birthday today. Ulla:)))

I got notified yesterday through Facebook as Donna has kept his Membership up there and we always get told the day before in Australia of course. Look for Mikey I likey if you have not seen it in my Rants Raves and Tributes collection in my Portfolio maybe you saw it ages ago and were not notified.

Thanks Sharon. Not sure if we met before. Always appreciate new friends getting on board. This story was hanging around unfinished for a while and I am amazed that I got it up right at the anniversary of this tragedy.

Yes Sis. Like me trying to get footpaths "sidewalks in Yankee/Rebel land" in our street. It won't happened till some child or someone is killed. Thanks for coming by you may have tipped me over into All Time Best, possibly?

Forty six years ago, it's hard to believe. I remember the occasion. Keith McGowan was a radio announcer at 2UW in Sydney and on that day was a passenger on that train.
He delivered an eyewitness account from Granville.

Thanks Bob, Good getting a review from another Aussie that was around back then. It sure would have made things a lot different for me had my later-to-be wife been going to school that day. Appreciate the great review and will look for your stuff. I am only still here because a kind soul sponsored me for another year. As you would do, possibly, I was finding it hard coping with the exchange rate with the Greenback for the membership here. Other things too privately if interested. Hi Marilyn, so true. I had this half done for ages and finally got it finished only a few days ago. So relevant to my wife and to me. Also my connections with the men who helped the injured. Thanks for your lovely review.

The Lord does work in strange and miraculous ways. I am so glad that you and your sweet lady were provided for in these horrible moments. I know that we are only able to see mere inches before us as we walk our path -- and that our Lord is able to see eternity. What an amazing comfort!

Thanks Robyn, your lovely review is most appreciated. This piece hung around for ages in limbo, needing finishing which I finally did just a day or two ago. So relevant for both of us in what might never have transpired had Louise been on her way to school that day. You have probably read in my biography how miraculous it was my obtaining the job at the hospital and meeting Louise....even the preparation for meeting her that occurred when I was much younger accompanying my Mum on her visits to the "Home For Incurables" meeting people whose bodies were all bound up in disabilities but who still had very bright minds as Louise did and still does. Sorry for raving. Was it Phyllis Stewart doing the stories on the Benders or you? So sorry she is no longer with us.

Interesting details provided in this well penned piece. Good thing she was on holidays, not the train. Isn't that always the way it goes, many complaints about the condition of something and nothing is done about it until a crash like this occurs and disaster stirkes? Then, it is too late.

Exactly right, Bro. Thanks for the great review.Been trying to get footpaths around here as our street is quite busy. I know they won't do it till someone is run over. I am known to be a whinger (whiner in USA) but I have achieved a few changes around here. Will write on some moore as they happen, soon.
