Hi aryr. I loved this. Your poem does focus on a sense of freedom that lies within the depths of humans, some more than others. I did note the spelling which is totally understandable to me.

This is my favorite stanza:
"I can choose what I see and what I hear.
I can choose to differ, to travel a path my own.
I can do as I wish; as long as none I harm.
I feel for those who follow daily paths,
Those who are bound, without choice and have not grown."
An excellent write. Marilyn

Aww thank you ever so much, I am glad you enjoyed it; it was one of those moments lol. I am glad you picked up on what so many thought was a typo or spelling error. And it is totally about being free. Again thanks.

Thank you very much for sending me a message. This is a first for me to get a review/ message from someone from the art side. I have to admit that I took the short cut of searching with the word 'free' and of the ones I had to chose from yours simply spoke to me. I will have to check because when I do use art I try to acknowledge the piece and contributor in my notes. It was a pleasure on my part. Again thanks. Oh and the stars are great too.

I thought I'd pop in to have a browse and saw that this poem needed a little nudge to take it over the line for a ribbon. Hope you don't mind :-) It is a lovely poem and deserving of a ribbon. It allows the reader to get lost in its words and appreciate all that is associated with life, love, nature and, above all, freedom. Thank you for such a beautiful read. ~DD

Thank you so much for reading and for your wonderful comments. You are most welcome for the inspiration. I actually wrote this many many years ago in my younger years and just tucked it away with the rest of my scribbles which I am now adding to fanstory. Again thanks.

Wow, Poet,

I so enjoyed reading your ode entry for freedom
All was so well said. I love all of the examples
that you gave of freedom and your commentary
on those who follow daily paths...

This is very poetic and I can hear your spiritual
self here. So well done.

"I am glad of the wisdom, *witch *had set me free."

Don't you mean (which rather than witch there?)

So...'I'm glad for the wisdom which has set me free'

Love this entry!

Linda

Thank you for reading and reviewing and for catching what you thought was a mistake, lol, not I intended to use witch because it is me and it gave me freedom. Thank you for the wonderful words.

Great poem with rhythmic flow. Poet raves how hears delightful and painful sounds. Recognizes and admires beauty in simple things of nature. Check mine out also. Liberty justice

Well Now I see why you said witch in this line about you feeling like a witch is really good.
Gert

Hello author I say your Ode is a very good one
look at these lines

The sounds and silences; ((having))take out having
and saying surrounding me instead of surrounded me
and this line

I am glad of the wisdom, ((witch)) spelled wrong had set me free

Now I'm very willing to re-read your ODE
Sorry for the 4 rating

Gert

Thank you so much Gert for taking the time to read and review my poem. I appreciate your suggestions, although it may not win I wrote it from the heart many years ago and just kept it on file until the opportunity arose and I will leave it as it is. But your suggestions were very constructive. In regards to the line which includes witch, it was done intentionally because in recognizing what I was (a witch) I gained my freedom. Again thanks so much.

This is a well written poem about freedom, very visual and imaginative. Sounds like the person traveled a long road in life, and finally with knowledge acquired through age and experience, overcame mental or physical blocks. The poem has a nice flow, I like the message. Good job, good luck with the contest.

Thank you for the good wishes and comments and that you enjoyed it. I originally wrote it in my 40s and just kept it tucked away with the rest of my scribbling until I felt the urge to submit it to this contest. I thank you for reading and reviewing.
