This is a cute poem. It rhymes well. It's funny. I can identify with most of what you say here. I worked at a job where I had to dress up. I vowed that when I retired, I would live in jeans. I also like to work outside in my yard and gardens.

We get a very clear picture of the Speaker who is content with her life now and loves the natural world. I really like how you describe your personality as well as your background and show us how you have evolved over the years.
I will never be a fan of rhyming couplets, but the format works for you.

A very well-written poem. A biography of someone who like the country side and not the noisy city. We get old quicker than we expect then we have to just accept all the things changing.

So true, Sandra, I have heard that old age creeps up on us. Somehow, this didn't happen to me. I was young...I woke up and was old. :o) Yet, with old age comes many rewards. I am content.

I enjoyed reading this. However, some of your lines in the beginning did seem a little forced. When I reached the middle, it was easier for me to follow and I found it grabbing more of my attention. Where you put " wear flowers with plaid", it made me laugh. Adding the flower was a really nice touch!
