This is a great final poem to your NaPoWriMo challenge Kim, very well done. So many poets you've researched along the way. You have done some lovely stuff yourself, so it's compliments to the chef.
cheers,
valda.

This is a very nice poem to culminate this month of celebrating poets of various types and ages - you've created a rich tapestry of words, images and ideas here in this poem and throughout the month! Most interesting, and inspiring. How wonderful! I kinda wish I had done it, although knowing I didn't have time. Maybe next year!
hugs,
Carol
P.S. tired fingers from reviewing and swamped message box from all you NaPoWriMo folks! ;)

The art work was great
in every way for the words written.
Our imagination is certainly a gift
and writing down what we think
and read about is a gift to us all.

And here we have another poem so worthy of the rating I stingily won't give it because we are allotted only a lousy six of sixes - I'm two days late, so hesitate, but once again, I am SO, SO enjoying reading your work, and so impressed by the wealth of knowledge - I have no formal training, and notes such as the ones you provide are how I learn!

Hi Dawn!
I'm a stingy sixer, too! lol No worries... a virtual six is always appreciated. :) I'm so glad you've enjoyed the poetry and the notes. It makes me happy that my book in April was able to teach so many different things about the poets and the poetry styles. Thanks for taking the time to read and comment. :)

"I said...I have shut my heart as one shuts an open door
the love may starve therein and trouble me no more
but over the roofs there came the wet new wind of May
and a tune blew up from the curb where the street pianos play. my room was white with sun and love cried out in me
I am strong and I will break your heart...unless you set me free.".....Sara Teasdale wrote that. I read it so many years ago....and fell in love with her...-smile-...its very beautiful Kim. love Michael

Hi Michael,
Thank you for sharing the beautiful passage from Teasdale and the six shining stars. I am appreciative of both, and that you read and enjoyed my poem.

A wonderful job done by all and thanks to you, Kim, for originating a contest on the NaPoWriMo 2016. It's been fun reading and reviewing everyone's work--actually, I'm still in the process of doing that. Yes, now time for a rest. Marilyn

Oh My! What a wonderful "Epilogue Acrostic" you have penned
to wrap up this amazing month of poetry :-)
:::applause:::applause:::applause:::
And so the final poem is writ
upon this journey Kim set off
we've shared our hearts, our art, our wit -
to each who played, my hat I doff :-)
We've seen odes penned to poets
and Mother Goose re-imagined.
Seen faces of love and Elvis refits;
even thrilled at a travelogue whirlwind.
We've witnessed inspired ekphrasis
and devotion to meter and rhymes.
Seen exhibitions of muse on the fritz
and explored both beginnings...and troubled times.
Observations and reflections led the way
as we practiced poetic endeavors
and many a new form was put on display!
Reading these works has been such a pleasure!!!
(over 550 postings guys! And that's without
counting our ride along partners [like Joy Graham and
tfawcus] in this project :-)
P.S. Please know I did read every poem posted...I just
lacked the ability and time to review all of them.

Love the run through of all the poets who have provided the inspiration - you also managed to get a head nod to Prince and Bowie in there - well done!
It is probably the longest acrostic I've seen, so well done on getting all the way through it. Lovely visual setting too :)
Excellent stuff Kim, well done on this poem, and the whole event :)

Hi Craig!
It was my goal to recap every one of the influencing poets, and especially the ones named in the opening Abecedarian, hence Ziggy Stardust... and Prince, of course, was one of my features, due to his untimely death.
I appreciate your fantastic review! :) The whole project was pleasure to organize and participate in.
*Hugs*

Kim,
You did a fantastic job with this amazing acrostic. The artwork is beautiful.
The way you worked all of the names of the great poets in is super. I like the 'bash' idea. This format looks very challenging, but you did an awesome job.
Thank you for this great read and for all the work you did to put the project together here.
Good job and thanks for sharing. Jan

Hi Jan!
Thank you so much for all the wonderful compliments. I just wanted to do a 'wrap up' poem :) I am so happy that you participated in NaPo, it was so much fun. The format isn't difficult if you take the components separately, just two sets of quatrains and an acrostic. I just put down the letters for the acrostic first and then just start writing above it with the quatrains and let the words flow in naturally. I appreciate you taking the time to read and share your thoughts.
Kim
