Very heartfelt. The second line was a little too long compared to the shorter length of the lines around it. This isolates the longer line, causing the reader to interrupt the reading. Happy Anzac Day.

"on a memorial plaque." Would rhyme. Yes, it is a commemoration; not long ago they tried to stop the march. Australians will never stand for that. It is a sacred day and needed to educate our young people. Well done mate.

indeed lots of us got to serve. To this day aw cannot say we were there. Rows upon rows of white crosses mark their sacrifice.This day no one can say --with any degree of certainty--just why we were there.
Indeed a sad time-- with any luck at all--we've seen the last of these senseless blood -lettings.--

I enjoyed this very well written and informative poem. I wasn't aware of the Anzacs or the celebration. I will share with my grandson, Nate because he is going to Austrailia in January to play soccer. He will be 22 before the trip and this will be a great adventure for him.

You did a great job expressing your feelings.

It breaks my heart that the US turned their back on the Viet Nam vets when they returned home [and also for all those that were lost].
