My heart and soul hurts for you today. All the responsibility you have to take in right now will be so overwhelming. I hope that you will sometimes come back and just write. That is how I began to recover. It will be slower than you think and it will not be easy to take those children in. If you can take a moment please read in my portfolio Grief. It actually won a contest but that is not why I want you to read it. Their is anger in Grief that we don't like to acknowledge. So much love for you , someone I do not know, but hope to.

Hi, Bob

I know that you understand very well what the kids must be going through right now. What we found is that there is an incredible support system that is far more suited to helping my 'kids' than Dan and I could possibly be. My sister had the foresight to get them involved in a dynamic Christian community of people who truly walk the talk. Powerful divine forces are in place, and we have been humbled by the magnitude of the love for my sister and her children. We will be helping them get on their feet financially, seeing they are in safe and comfortable homes and doing our best to get them to keep in touch with us on a regular basis. Of course, I will be more hands on, but I have to step back and let the 18, and 20, year olds find an apartment together (which we will subsidize) get good cars, and take care of whatever expenses they need to mitigate the tremendous stress they're under for now and the forseeable future. The biggest blessing is the wonderful Christian family that has immediately stepped forward and offered to assume Guardianship for the 16 year old boy. He had been spending a lot of time with them before the death and feels as if they are his family. He was terrified we would uproot him and take him from Lansing to Traverse City for his senior year in school. Should this family not have stepped forward, we would have had no option but to do that and would have done so gladly for my sister.
