I just wish they would change the name to "War on Abusive Drug Use"!
It's not actually the drugs that are to blame, but rather, man's unfortunate
tendency to use medicine for recreational and irresponsible purposes.
In the right hands, as you say, these drugs can be a boon to mankind.

You may or may not know Carolyn, I have written poetic testimonies, just before I was baptised I had a strong problem with alcohol, God told me to give up alcohol, as it is the catalyst for other sinful problems, I stopped, 32 years ago, the rest as they say is his history, well done, my dear friend, you are absolutely right, it causes abject rebellion, great article my friend, blessings, Roy

Hi Carolyn,

Everything in moderation ... as you mention, drugs and alcohol have their place and can do great good. If abused and used in excess, however, the results can be disastrous. Nancy Reagan was a great advocate for the 'War On Drugs' and I was reminded of that this past weekend when it was announced that she passed away.

I thought it smart that you gave 'modern day' (the 60's and 80's) examples of society's views on drugs. Wonder what the future will bring with respect to drugs and alcohol?

Carolyn, alcohol has ruined many lives and torn families
apart. I know my grandfather suffered from alcoholism
and it was sad as a child to witness that. You are doing
a good job in presenting these topics. You never know
what heart you will touch and encourage to get help if
they need it.
