Unfortunately, this is all too often true. We love it when love washes in, but we don't nurture and develop the relationship and it comes crashing down. Well written, my friend~Debbie

Hi Missy,
no excuses... just trying to catch up with the writers who inspire my thoughts to blossom.
It's like when I read this most cleverly metaphorical ride... my inner voice speaks as if in a one-on-one conversation to what love truly is... and where the gestation should arise from... but of course I go way off into another sphere of a distracted thought process... as this very lingering poem is birthed from your imaginative-creative mind of what you see and feel... to that I say, brilliant!
But now I feel as the tide has changed to a receding ebb of lost among the grains of sand to an ever changing landscape of an endless beach... yes, beautiful work my dear friend!
With our thoughts we create,
eroding shorelines,
James vx's.

The tide is always changing, James. The outline of the shore will always change but the sand...under your feet may shift but still hold your weight :) Just like true love...it changes and evolves but the trueness of that love ...stays the same.

Great poem and I love the love sweeping in theme. It kind of reminds me of the "Love is a Battlefield" song, by Pat Benatar. I now have that song playing in my head, lol.

The first stanza describes Love and how it doesn't last forever, but comes quickly. Like a storm with lightening and crashing waves, love can be electrifying and powerful. Concluding in the end that love can also leave as quickly leaving us wasting away on shore. Enjoyed your approach! ð???
